FMPD Responds to Shots Fired at S.T.A.R.’s Complex

Fort Myers Police Department Officers were called to investigate a report of shots fired at the STARS complex at 2980 Edison Avenue in Fort Myers and encountered a large crowd in the parking lot. Witnesses informed police that shooting victims were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle. When officers responded to the hospital they found two victims with gunshot wounds. Their condition is unknown at this time and the investigation remains active.  Police are seeking additional information and citizens can call (239) 321-7700 or leave an anonymous tip through tip411 on the FMPD website at www.fmpolice.com.  Tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477) or made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips mobile app.  All callers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
