ShotSpotter Statistic Update

February 26, 2021 



On February 25, 2021, ShotSpotter released an article highlighting how, since Fort Myers Police Department implemented this technology, has seen a decrease in gunfire within the city, while gun violence has increased overall by an average of 40% across the US. 


Chief Diggs has continued to implement his beliefs of data driven policing and technology initiatives within the department. These best practices in conjunction with technology such as ShotSpotter are continued steps to keep our city as safe as possible.
