The FMPD Public Information Office manages the release of public messages and press releases along with handling public relations, public service announcements, newsletters and social media. The Public Information Officer (PIO) is on call to the department 24/7 and coordinates all inquiries from the media, serves as the agency’s spokesperson and arranges interviews between the media and members of the department.

Accreditation Public Comment Portal

Please use the link to send public comment to CALEA in reference to the Fort Myers Police Department.  The purpose of the CALEA public portal is to receive comments regarding an agency's compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the participating agency with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.
